Due to current law within the UK, no celebrant can actually legally marry you. As celebrants it is our job to take you through the ceremony you want for your special day.
You will have to register your intent to get married with your local registry office to conduct the 'Civil' part of the wedding. Registry Offices usually have 'signing days' where you can pop along and sign the legal paperwork and make the legal declarations required by law to say that you are married. It is at this point that you are married and is usually conducted a day or two before the ceremony you have created to celebrate this special day. You cannot have a religious and civic ceremony at the same time.
For example, my oldest son is getting married in March of next year. He is having this ceremony at a castle and has one room where the local registrar will conduct the legal aspect of the wedding. After this the guests will move to the castles chapel where I will be conducting a Christian blessing and where they will exchange the vows chosen for the day. I would not be able to this in the same room as the registrar.
I will explain all of this to you when you call.
